Glen Hershberger
Instructor
678-494-1999 |
The newest addition to the Swing Factory Golf Center is teaching pro Glen Hershberger. In 1987 as a local junior golfer, Glen put his name in the record books (next to some of Georgia’s great players like Danny Yates, Larry Mize, Tim Simpson and Tommy Barnes Jr.) by winning the Atlanta Amateur Match Play Championship. Glen’s low round of 63 at Indian Hills still stands as a course record now 25 years later.
With the pro tours behind him, Glen found his niche as a teacher and has given more than 55,000 lessons and another 600 playing lessons. Glen takes a personal approach with each student and has an innate ability to apply proper solutions to swing errors. Glen’s dedication to his students makes him more than an instructor - he’s a coach for life.
“My ultimate goal is to give my students that ‘ah ha’ moment that turns a temporary fix into a permanent swing fundamental.”
Glen Hershberger

PGA Master Professional Bill Johnstone will be joining the instruction staff at The Swing Factory Golf Center. As a former Section Officer and Board Member, Bill is one of the most respected golf professionals in the state and we are happy to have him.
Bill is a naturally gifted teacher. He grew up in Stowe, Vermont where he earned a degree in music education from the University of Vermont. Although Bill first taught music, it wasn't long before he turned to golf. As a golf instructor, Bill has received a "Junior Golf Leader" award from the Illinois Section, been recognized on the "Best Teachers in State" lists from Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine, and worked with the famous teacher & trick shot artist, Joe Kirkwood.
As a player, Bill played on the PGA Tour, won over a dozen Section events including the "Georgia PGA Senior Championship", and owns four course records.
"You don't become a PGA Master Professional and you receive the awards Bill has received without a strong work ethic and passion for the game, but once you meet Bill, it's his personality that will impress you."

- Do - Communicate - Instructors need to know what you think, feel, & believe. Knowing these things may help you and your instructor to understand each other better.
- Please, do not be late - In the off season our instructors often spend extra time with students. However, in peak season we may have lessons scheduled much more closely together. Being late may cause you to lose valuable lesson learning and practicing time.
- Do - Warm up - Arrive early to warm up & stretch before you begin your lesson. Hit a few balls, don't use lesson time warming up while your instructor watches - this is wasted time!
- Do not - Listen to Others - Close your ears to your friends advice, listening in on other lessons, and The Golf Channel! You are an individual with individual needs, our instructors are trained in a wide variety of training drills and exercises, if something isn't working for you - let us know, feel free to ask for help from anyone on our staff.
