.jpg) Most golf shops offer a service to replace your old, worn our grips with new ones. Sounds simple enough, but we take it much more seriously here at The Swing Factory. Owner and head of instruction, Don Peterson has invented his own way of measuring and fitting grips for students and customers of The Swing Factory. The premise is simple. Most golf club manufacturing companies have strayed away from making grips sized correctly for their customers in favor of making what the customer says "feels" the best. Their strategy is clear, they want to sell more clubs, and most customers like fatter feeling grips.
"That's the beginning of the problem", says Don Peterson, "but according to logic, physics, and science...there should be an anatomically correct size grip for each golfer based entirely on their hand size (length of hand bones, and musculature).
My system for grip fitting works wonders for my students and those wanting to find their best swing. Golfers who fit the grip size correctly for thier hands find it much easier to square the golf club centrifugally at impact.
